![]() ![]() During the initial software purchase I took one look at the limitations and said this isn't for us. The division of IT has tried to move management away from this software and towards something geared to bigger businesses. So, due to our configuration I've been told to pound sand a few times when calling their support line. Either way, our users aren't a member of power users, I'm hosting the server on vSphere, and users are connecting to desktop pools via Citrix Receiver with XenDesktop on the backend. I find that funny because in Windows 7 the power users group has no more access than a regular user. Their company also insists that users are a member of the power users group. The software has strange limitations like not supporting virtual environments. Otherwise, people visiting one clinic couldn't have their records pulled should they visit another clinic. Having multiple clinics spread across a geographic area, my company had to have one central repository (server). The server holds X-Ray images, patient data, scheduling, charting, etc. This software has a server client model supporting only LAN communications and each additional clinic is supposed to have it's own server. ![]() The software is essentially meant for small mom and pops dental clinics with a single dentist office. ![]() There's this piece of software our Dental division uses that has some really strict limitations on deployments and WAN communication. ![]()
